Description (physical)

Three curved high arcs, looking like a modern version of a viking helmet, surround spiky steel shapes. The combination evokes a very different world, that of lightweight racing and sporty cars. Colin Chapman had moved Lotus Cars to the nearby former Hethel airfield in the 1960s, using the runway as a test track for their lightweight cars, an opening a purpose-built factory in 1966. Lotus have continued to design both their own cars and have worked for other major manufacturers.
